Who we help

We provide advice and practical support for projects worldwide and for institutions where zoo or wild animals are in distress – for stray dogs too.

Where we help

Zoos, animal homes and shelters, rescue stations, national parks, landscape preservation areas, capture and relocation operations, reintroduction projects to conserve endangered species with the aim of sustainably safeguarding and maintaining biodiversity.

How we help

We offer direct and unbureaucratic help with the involvement of local governments and NGOs. We do not distribute money, but offer help through the commonsense use of materials and goods after we have personally reviewed the situation in situ. We provide practical training for personnel and instruction in skills in areas such as keeping and feeding, prophylaxis, management, hygiene and veterinary science. The Academy is financed through membership fees and contributions.

What we do to help

Our speciality is distance immobilisation in accordance with the animal rights and wildlife protection laws, in other words the use of a safe narcosis from a distance with minimal risk for man and animal. This is the key to zoo and wild animal medicine. We have 39 years of experience in zoo medicine to benefit projects.

How you can help

You can help by becoming a sustaining member of our academy. Your donations go directly to the projects. You will receive a receipt for your donation, which is tax deductible. See the projects for yourself. We also organise trips to visit the projects, for example to Zambia and Kenya – pure adventure!
